James Jenkins Lift Us Foundation | Join Us | Donate Lift Us uses weightlifting to help young people become well-rounded adults.

Since 2016 we have been serving our community. We made this investment because we are determined to make an impact, and be a positive force for good in the world.  Help us do more!

Lift us currently serves:

  • 80% students of color

  • Students from multiple zip codes in Oakland and the surrounding Bay Area

  • Award $250,000 in need-based assistance

  • Providing opportunities for youth athletes who might not otherwise be able to participate in Lift Us

Among these accomplishments of Lift Us:

  • 400% increase in enrollment.

  • Provided an open safe place to train during the 12-month shutdown of schools and sports during the pandemic.

  • Hosted camps for youth athletes.

  • Hosted 6-time World Champion, and 2020 Olympian CJ Cummings for community events

  • Hosted a family nutrition seminar

  • Hired and empowered BIPOC women coach who are underrepresented in strength and conditioning

  • Provided continuing education opportunities for BIPOC coaches

  • Hosted a National Championship-level weightlifting event to expose students to what’s possible

  • Funded a team to compete at USAW Nationals

  • Produced multiple National champions

  • Lift US has been featured on KPIX5, ABC7, KRON4, KTUV2 live broadcasts.

  • Featured on the San Francisco Chronicle front page, and in the center spread.
